Ethical fashion imagery is kind to bodies

Later this week I’m writing a presentation at the request of Lynne Featherstone Govt minister for Equalities to deliver to officials who help ministers make policy.

It’s a chance to help govt. understand where regulations of business practice that undermines female self esteem can be applied. As co-founder of All Walks I have talked about this a great deal.

The airbrushing debate or post-prod work as we call it in the trade is one example. Debenhams are a retailer who self regulated with excellent results. You can see how most photographs are deliberately changed.

I’m delighted to have the chance to influence govt thinking on a point I care so passionately about. If women saw realistic images of themselves perhaps they could accept their bodies and be kinder to them!

Ethical fashion imagery is just as important.
